Botanicals I
The Botanical series was photographed in the spring of 2020 using natural light, with both positive and negative fill, and a deliberately shallow depth of field. Hayward captures the vitality and impermanence of the subjects, moving between purity and collapse. Petals fold and fray, embodying both fragility and resilience, resulting in a body of work with an almost painterly quality.
These works are digital pigment prints, printed on Canson rag photographique paper and are accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Botanicals II will debut in 2026.
